MOURNE FAMILY SURGERY NEWS

Covid-19 Vaccination

Please do not phone the surgery about when you will receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

We are getting a limited supply of vaccines each week and do not know what day they will be delivered. We have vaccinated everyone over the age of 70 and are currently working through patients aged 16 to 64 with underlying health conditions.

If you are aged between 65 to 69 as of 31st March 2021, you need to book your Covid-19 vaccine with the trust. You can do this online here or by calling the booking line 0300 200 7813.

Carers are also advised to book through the trust however, you must register as a carer first. Please email the local care co-ordinator at carers.coordinator@southerntrust.hscni.net or ring 028 375 66284.

Please be assured that we are working as fast as we can but extra calls regarding the vaccine are putting a tremendous amount of pressure on all staff.

You can find all the latest guidance on coronavirus in Northern Ireland by visiting the NI Direct website.

Appointment Update February 2021

The surgery is currently extremely busy as we manage the ongoing increased winter pressures and also continue to roll out the vaccination programme.

Please can we ask patients to contact the surgery EARLY in the day if they require a telephone appointment with a GP.

Routine telephone calls will now only be accepted before 12.00pm.

Some patients require a face-to-face appointment with the GP, as decided by the doctor during a telephone consultation. These generally take place in the afternoon, meaning that we will now only be able to accept URGENT telephone calls in the afternoon.

Thank you for your understanding.
